'Sup Bright and Happy People? Today we are going to take a walk in the past - last December, specifically - and talk to about a trip that we took. Russell and I are friends with the owner/founder/president of a non-profit called Gravity Cycling Inc. Its the largest downhill mountain biking team in Southern California. However, its not just a California team! The reach of this tight knit community is felt from West to East coast and a bit overseas. They call themselves Gravity Pirates, which I think is an amazing pun. Anyways, they have an annual gathering in Las Vegas every December to ride and party for a few days.
I know what you're thinking: Kaylee on a mountain bike going downhill? I will say that I have attempted riding a few times. I'm more of a rhythm rider and love to flow along with the trails, but I have long since hung up my bike. I kept falling and it was just too much for my nerves of steel. So, no I didn't go to ride and no I'm not much a partier. Believe it or not, I went to help with the actual event. We had a party on the Saturday we were there and I helped get everything decorated and ready for the riders.
Russell also went and was taking photos and filming for everyone there. I was helping him as well. It was the second time I had ever gone to Las Vegas and solidified my opinions about it: I am not a fan. I'm not a drinker nor a gambler and I really don't like that many people in one place. However, it is a place that you have to see and experience at least once in your life. I am very lucky to have been able to travel to such an iconic place with some amazing people. I am adding in a few pictures from our trip below!
